Steven Hendee

for

 Canyon Middle School Principal

 

Castro Valley, CA – (June 12, 2024) – At the June 12th board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action to select Steven Hendee for the position of Canyon Middle School Principal. 

Mr. Hendee has served as the assistant principal at Castro Valley High School (CVHS) for the past three years. During this time, he has been responsible for coordinating the school-wide Multi-Tiered Support System and providing support for Response to Intervention and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. His effective coordination of these programs has resulted in guiding the staff and providing vital support to the students. Additionally, Mr. Hendee has assumed the role of co-principal at CVHS summer school and has also served as the co-chair of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in his previous school district. Throughout his teaching career, Mr. Hendee has devoted himself to instrumental music, successfully conducting several student ensembles and collaborating with staff and parents to establish a strong and comprehensive music program. Mr. Hendee earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and Education from California State University, Hayward.
