Castro Valley Unified School District Appoints
Maly Pra for
Child Nutrition Director
Castro Valley, CA – (March 22, 2023) – At the March 22nd board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action to select Maly Pra for the position of Child Nutrition Director.
Ms. Pra earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science and Dietetics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s in Business Administration from California State University, East Bay. Ms. Pra also has a current fellowship from the Chef Ann Foundation to develop scratch-cook food operations that can support a sustainable program and drive school food reform and a previous internship with Priority Nutrition Care.
Ms. Pra has over four years in school district leadership positions that focused on menu planning, developing and scaling recipes, researching new products, nutrient analyses, and forecasting. Ms. Pra remains diligent in complying with USDA guidelines and regulations, interpreting federal and state laws, and implementing new regulations. Ms. Pra has over eleven years of experience in delicacy food shops managing overall sales, marketing, and franchising operations of three locations.
